Founded in 1975 and accredited by the American Association of Museums in 1987, MAM is a nonprofit museum that serves the public by striving to engage artists and audience in the creative exploration of contemporary art relevant to our community, state and region. MAM’s exhibitions showcase diverse and thought-provoking work from local and international artists. MAM manages over 1,300 works in its permanent collection which is distinguished by the Contemporary American Indian Art Collection.
In addition to developing and hosting over two dozen exhibitions annually, MAM is home to quality educational programming including a diverse array of art classes, film screenings, literary readings, musical events, performances, and artist lectures.
